Revised: DC to NC

We left the DC area earlier on Friday that worked like a charm as we were able to avoid the traffic on the beltway. The trip down took only seven (7) hours. Upon arrival we were happy to see that the upstairs floors had been refinished and wow what a difference. The contractor stopped by on Saturday to finish the work. He needed to buff out the finish and install one (1) more coat of poly. Since we are staying upstairs he will come back on Wednesday to finish the job.

The foyer marble is all in place and Brent did install the tile on the fireplace hearth in the library/den. Lynn grouted the kitchen tile backsplash and the remaining tiles in the foyer. Lynn really likes to use the black grout. Brent was able to caulk the windows and crown molding in the dining room and he also put the finish coat on the crown molding. He also had to cut-in the wall paint next to the crown molding in alot of the areas which meant alot of going up and down the eight (8) foot step ladder. In order to have the full appreciation of the work, we attempted to show the difference in the floor in the before and after pictures below.  Cookie reminds Brent of his sister when she was young, always wanting to get in the picutre.

  1. What a great turnaround for the flooring. The floors look really great! We just hired a contractor from eContractorBids.com to redo our flooring as well. I hope it turns out as great as yours did.

  2. Let us know how your floors turned out. We were lucky because this contractor was recommended by our electrian. If you are in the Charlotte, NC area I can pass on his name.
